Chicago makerspaces
What are hackerspaces/makerspaces?
It's a communal workshop where people get together to break apart things, code and skills only to build new things, code and skills. Sometimes pizza and beer is involved.
TL;DR they are community run workspaces, for people that need a place to work together, they have tools for physical projects. Like soldering equipment, 3D printers, workshop type tools, etc.
think of them like signing up for a gym, but with appointments/time slots.

why should you go?
gain a pool of people to collaborate on projects, learn from, and just hang out with.
cool events
tools.
awesome likeminded peeps 😆
If its by appointment only when should i visit?
i recommed looking for a openhouse days example PS1 (Open House: Every Tuesday at 8pm) on the events page or they typically have a wiki
Just show up, sometimes they have a locked door, just nock and get buzzed in by a volunteer.
this is very typical.
think gym with keycard access.
